This year’s Open House is scheduled for Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.  While the structure of our event is informal, there are presentations by the Headmaster and members of our faculty.  You’ll also have the opportunity to meet teachers, students and coaches as you explore campus.  Please check back this fall for further details and registration information.Additional details will be available as the event approaches and reservations can be made beginning in October.

Begin Your Student's Online Application

The application for 2018-2019 will be available in September with a link here to the application portal.  From the portal, you can complete the online application, request online recommendations, obtain supplemental forms and track the progress of your application materials.  In the application, you will provide information about the student and family as well as select dates for the applicant interview.  A non-refundable application fee of $100 is due upon completion of the form.  To inquire about a fee waiver, please contact our office.

Deadline: January 12, 2018

Request Teacher Recommendations

We require recommendations from the student’s current English and math teachers. Students who only have one teacher for their current grade should also ask the teacher from the previous year for a recommendation. Online recommendations can be requested from the application portal (paper forms are also available for download if your teacher or school requests them).

Deadline: January 19, 2018

Request Transcripts

Request online transcripts from the student’s present school from the application portal.  You can also print and complete the Request for Transcript if your school prefers a paper form. We must receive grades from the current semester/trimester as well as grades from the previous school year.

Deadline: January 26, 2018

Applicant Interview

Informal interviews are held in January and February with all students who have filed an application. After the Admissions Office receives your family's completed application, you will be contacted about an appointment. At this visit one or both parents may also meet with the interviewer to ask questions about the school or share insights about their child.

Appointment notifications are sent in late December and January. Please note that if your family submits an application early in the admissions season, the interview confirmation will still not arrive before December or January. See Frequently Asked Questions for more details about the interview process.

Shadow Visits

These visits provide students with an opportunity to visit campus on a weekday morning and attend classes with a current Flintridge Prep student. Please note these are optional and separate from the interview.  As members of the Admissions Committee do not know whether a student has shadowed, the candidacy of a student who has not shadowed is not negatively impacted in any way.

Visits take place on select dates from January to March.  While visits are also offered to admitted students after decisions are sent in mid-March, dates are more limited, so students are encouraged to sign up for an earlier date if they are interested.  For additional information and to schedule a visit, please contact our office beginning in December.

Financial Aid

The financial aid application is entirely online and will be available in November 2017. The deadline to apply is Monday, January 29, 2018. Completed federal and state tax returns are a required part of the financial aid application. Paper copies of the family’s federal and state tax returns must be mailed to FAST by Friday, February 9, 2018. Please see the Financial Assistance section of our website for more information and a link to the financial aid application.

Please note that the application for financial aid is a separate and second process in addition to the application for admission to Flintridge Prep. If your family is interested in applying for financial aid, it is your responsibility to complete the on-line ISM FAST financial aid application, and to submit tax information by the deadlines noted.

Admissions and Financial Aid Decisions

Admissions and financial aid decisions will be sent by mail and email on Friday, March 9, 2018.

Enrollment Contracts

New contracts are due Monday, March 19, 2018 (for admitted students who decide to enroll at Flintridge Prep).
